Kilchenmann comprehensively modernized the media technology in the SBB auditorium in Wankdorf and installed a new LED wall, a flexible signal distribution system, state-of-the-art videoconferencing technology, and an upgraded interpretation system for professional events and hybrid meetings.
On behalf of Swiss Federal Railways AG (SBB), Kilchenmann upgraded the media technology inthe auditorium on Hilfikerstrasse in Bern’s Wankdorf district. The focus was on replacing the existing large projectors with a modern LED wall, which enables a consistent and high-quality display of presentations, images, and video content.
In addition, the signal distribution, video conferencing technology, and interpretation system were upgraded. The AV-over-IP system installed enables flexible signal distribution and supports the use of media technology tailored to specific needs. The interpretation system for the existing speaker booths was replaced. As a result, the auditorium now features integrated technical equipment for the reliable hosting of in-person events, hybrid meetings, and multilingual formats.
Technical Implementation
The previous projection solution, which consisted of three large projectors, was replaced by a 7.2 × 4.72-meter LED wall. The expansive display surface forms the central element of the modernized media technology and creates a uniform visual foundation for presentations, video clips, and other content.
An AV-over-IP system is used for signal distribution. The technical components can be easily controlled as needed via control panels. The video conferencing solution is based on an MTR system and has been supplemented with four ceiling-mounted microphones and three PTZ cameras. As a result, the auditorium offers excellent conditions for hybrid meetings and the reliable integration of remote participants.
The interpretation system for the two existing booths was also upgraded and replaced with a Televic solution. Through the Service Level Agreement, Kilchenmann also supports SBB during ongoing operations and ensures rapid assistance with technical issues.
