State-of-the-art media technology for a historic building: At the Swiss National Bank’s Kaiserhaus, Kilchenmann implemented future-proof audio, video, and communications solutions for meetings, media events, and hybrid formats.
Background
As part of the comprehensive renovation of the Kaiserhaus in Bern, Kilchenmann was commissioned to implement the new audio, video, and communications solutions for the Swiss National Bank. The goal of the project was to equip the historic and prestigious premises with modern media technology that meets the highest standards for meetings, media events, and hybrid formats.
The new infrastructure combines high-performance presentation, audio, and control systems with intuitive operation, while seamlessly blending into the building’s exquisite architecture. The scope of the project included the Grand Hall, the Bank Council Chamber, the foyer, the Executive Board meeting room, and four additional meeting rooms.
Technical Implementation
In the Grand Hall, a flexible event environment was created for press conferences, presentations, and official events. A large-format LED wall serves as the visual centerpiece of the room. It is complemented by a modern audio and microphone infrastructure, professional stage lighting, and a central media control system that enables easy operation during daily use.
The Board of Directors’ Chamber was also equipped with a state-of-the-art presentation and conference solution. The combination of LED technology, integrated displays, and professional audio equipment creates optimal conditions for high-level meetings and decision-making processes.
For the foyer, Kilchenmann implemented a flexible sound system that can be easily adapted to different event formats. The mobile infrastructure allows for versatile use of the space for receptions, presentations, and other events.
The executive boardroom and four additional meeting rooms were equipped with modern presentation and collaboration solutions. This provides users with optimal conditions for in-person and hybrid meetings.
Despite scheduling challenges in the overall construction project, the audiovisual technology was commissioned on schedule. The result is a high-quality comprehensive solution that combines modern communication technologies with the architectural requirements of a historic building.
Conclusion
The project demonstrates how modern media technology and historic architecture can be successfully combined. The result is a flexible, high-quality comprehensive solution that meets a wide range of requirements for communication, collaboration, and events.
