As the technical partner of the Kursaal Bern, Kilchenmann realized the event design and media technology implementation of the Swiss startup days 2026 - the national platform for deep tech that brings together over 1,500 participants in Bern every year.
Swiss startup days (SUD) is the nationwide business and networking platform for startups, investors, SMEs and corporates in Switzerland. Once a year, the Swiss startup ecosystem meets at Kursaal Bern. The diverse event format was founded in 2004 by the non-profit association Startup INVEST and has been further developed and implemented by LINDEN 3L AG since 2021.
As the technical partner of Kursaal Bern, Kilchenmann was responsible for the event design and technical implementation of Swiss startup days 2026. Kilchenmann has already provided media support for the event on behalf of LINDEN 3L AG in previous years.
Technical implementation
The opening with Arianne Alcorta and Dominik Isler as well as the closing with the newcomers "Grande Finale" and the farewell ceremony took place in the arena. During the day, the space was also used as a customer zone. The permanently installed 16m² LED wall was used for the visual staging, on which presentations, program points and live images were displayed. The live transmission in the hall was carried out via PTZ cameras in combination with a mobile video control room.
In addition to the plenum in the arena, Kilchenmann realized three different stage formats with coordinated audio, video, lighting and presentation technology. On the AI Stage in the Forum West and on the Unplugged Stage in the Arena, compact discussion formats were realized on 2x2 m stages with a deliberately reduced technical setup. The content was transmitted to the participants exclusively via headphones as part of a "silent concert" concept, enabling a focused panel discussion and an intensive listening experience.
In addition, ten other rooms in the Kursaal Bern were used for workshops, breakout sessions and networking. The existing infrastructure with displays, audio control, sound system, video cameras and presentation laptops was used for the various formats and integrated into the overall technical implementation. At the same time, over 30 exhibitors were integrated into the technical infrastructure.
Technical support was provided by around 25 specialists from the fields of audio, video, lighting and project management. This meant that set-up, rehearsals and implementation could be carried out efficiently and smoothly.
The 2026 edition of Swiss startup days at Kursaal Bern once again confirmed its claim to be a central meeting place for innovation, exchange and future-oriented deep tech topics.
